I have an ATi 7000 PCI in my Mac, and it has a TV output that I use to my TV (currently that is the only port I use, though it has a VGA I can use too as extended desktop, GF4MX powering my two monitors). In the book it says that the TV(VCR in my case) must be on when you boot the machine for the card to recognize the output and use it. Otherwise, like right now i booted with the VCR off, I just have two monitors and no TV as a third. This is getting very annoying. Is there anyway to make it ALWAYS use the TV output even if it doesn't see anything there? Well I gotta go reboot now.... so I can watch a movie.

I think it has to 'sense' the Video out is being used. My solution was to have my TV plugged in whenever I started up then turned it off & disconnected the cable, but I mostly left the Mac in Sleep mode instaed of shuting down.
