Can anyone recommend any specific external firewire enclosures? I currently have a 60GB 7200 drive that came with my 2000 QS. I am planning on getting a Western Digital 120GB drive. I am considering running the 120GB on the internal drive and the 60GB externally as a removable backup.

Anyone have any opinions as to which configuration will get me better performance considering the ATA66 which my system is using internally? I'm planning on using the 120GB as the system drive as the 8MB cache should improve system performance. Thanks for any feedback.

My recommendation is the Pyro 1394 Drive Kit from ADS. I have 2 currently attached to my Mac (1 HD and 1 DVD ROM) or the OWC Firewire enclosure of which I have 2 (hard drives). Both enclosures have been trouble free and use the Oxford 911 chip.

I have a spare 1394 / Oxford bridge firewire enclosure if you want to buy. Used for about 7 months, but I no longer need it. Let me know if you want it.

Just email me
