Just bought a PC2100, 512meg stick for a buddy of mine. The online store offered heatsinks on the memory for $5 extra. I declined... But, I see more and more memory sticks with heatsinks these days, are they that important?

On a side note, anyone had any luck running 1GB Ram chips in the PC133 or new DDR Memory macs? Are the 512meg chips as big as it gets for the G4? I see 4GB chips these days ($$$ though)!!

Thanks in advance.

I think heat sinks are only important if you plan on doing overclocking. Otherwise, i dont think you would need them.

The apple tech notes say 4 512MB chips so i doubt 1BG would work.
