I want to buy a portable Fire Wire hard drive for video. I like the looks of the Firelite drives (mostly the low profile slim case), unfortunately the drives are only 4200 RPM. Are their any portable FireWire drive out their that are 7200 RPM? Can anyone vouch for a particular brand/ model?

System: 733 G4 10.2.1

i haven't seen any portables running at 7200rpm (which certainly doesn't mean they don't exist!)

i wound up buying an 80g ezquest drive, for the speed, and a good price. the portables are pretty pricey for what they are (less gigs, 5400rpm)

not crazy about carring the ezq, but it DOES fit in my backpack, and i can transfer files to & from it.

just a thought...

Fisherking, Are you running 10.2.1? Does the drive powerup from firewire as well as external power?

The 48g drive is certainly the smaller of the higher RPM drive I gave seen.

Thanks
