Today I got my ipod remote as well as the iSee ipod case.
Just let me tell you from all the bitching that you guys have had over the remote I just simply pluged it in with little force and bam i have total control over my ipod (ecept for navigating). The cords are kind of long but now that it will be in my pocket most of the time that won't be a problem. Seeming that i just got the remote only 20 minutes ago and I haven't had any problems with it I have to say for anyone that has an original iPod with no remote, go out and pony up the 39 bucks and get one. I have to say that it is the best money on an accesory i have spent
As for the iSee I also have nothing but good things to say about it, for my original 5 gigger it fits like a glove, a very slight slight movement when i move it back and forth, very negliable, also I have the beauty of the iPod to watch all the time. To get the ipod in and out the front slides off when you push up on it kind of like a match box and the ipod just comes right out, for 25 bucks how can some one go wrong. heres for the isee.
both of these I highly recomend for anyone that hasn't yet either gotten a case or a remote

Bitching?? The iPod remote costs $70 Canadian so it f*cking well BETTER work.
You've had it for 20 minutes with no problems? Good for you. Doesn't mean others don't have legitimate problems.
FYI mine worked perfectly for about a week before I noticed a problem on certain songs.
If you do discover a problem, I hope you keep it to yourself.

I haven't had problems with my remote either, I didn't know there was a problem. Anyways, I just wanted to comment on the cord, it is rather long, and I have often left the remote behind depending on what I was doing. Definitely a nice feature to have.

Is the screen also protected when you use that iSee case? I have been looking to get a case for my iPod but I don't like all those leather-things out there. Then you can'T see the beauty of the iPod.
I just hope they can send it to Europe....

Why exactly is the remote necessary? I've thought about getting one, but it's really not that much of a hassle for me to reach down to my waist and adjust volume, skip a track, etc. I have a Sooper Dooper case from Waterfield and you can just slide your fingers under the flap and do whatever. Is there some compelling advantage to having a remote? I love gadgets, so I'm always looking for an excuse. But I can't find one here.

Hey, yeah I have the super Dooper case too, love it. The remote comes in handy for me when I am on the bike trail, I have the iPod in a pack and the remote clipped to my belt. Or when running the iPod is in my belt pack. Wearing the iPod on your side is not always the best place to keep it, in those cases the remote is a god send. Of course not everyone is going to need this. I suppose the times you choice to listen to it you also have access to it. I actually prefer not to have the remote when I am just wearing it one my belt, it's then that the length of the wires becomes annoying. So is works out that the whole thing comes in two pieces. But your right, with this case just slipping in your finger comes naturally, which I think is a credit to the very simple interface.

I love it because I keep my iPod in my purse, with the remote attached to the purse strap across my chest...I have access to it immediately if I need to turn the sound down or switch songs or whatever...it's very cool. My problem with it turned out to be because of the new earphones that came with it....they rattled. I replaced them with some great Sony earbuds and the sound is even better and the cord is a little shorter.

I love the remote, it's a beautiful object and I think it's very useful. I hate to take the iPod out the pocket, switch the hold and push the pause button just to stop the music. Now I can do this immediately with the remote. For the gadgets lovers, look this: http://www.pawasapo.co.jp/ac/ip/index_ip.html
Anyway, someone have heard about : expanding the iPod hard disk? Are the 1.5" hard disks available on the market? And something about iPod and Bluetooth?

Where did you get the iPod remote separately?
I've got a 5GB model I'd love to have a remote on.
