I think that they sound great. I took off the plastic covers and the sound improved greatly. After I bought an iSub, they sound even better. I find the pro speakers much cooler looking than the Sound Sticks. IMHO.

Note that the Apple Pro Speakers only work (currently) with PowerMac G4s and LCD iMacs, and the iMac already comes with a set (minus the iSub).

How long is the cable on these things? I keep my Quicksilver on the floor underneath my desk (in part to reduce the noise), and I've been wondering whether the wires would be long enough to reach up onto the desk. Of course Apple had to go and use a proprietary connector, so a plain-old minijack extension won't do.

I think the pro speakers sound fine especially when coupled with the isub. In fact, I find the sound of the pro speakers pretty close to that of the Soundsticks and for a much better price.
