I have a HP 990 c printer,one of the DeskJets,had no trouble until I upgraded to OS 10.2 and updated to the 2.0e DeskJet driver.
I had the usual difficulties with crashes and nonprinting until I removed previous printers and reinstalled,etc as recommended here and elsewhere.
However now even when I select "grayscale" as the only ink option besides color,any document with colored text etc prints in color anyway.
I could view this as a plot by HP to force me to spend a fortune buying new ink cartridges, but I assume it is just another HP bug.
Can anyone who uses this or a similar HP printer give me a clue how to print in black and white? I had no problem doing this until I updated the driver.
Does the old 1.4.1 driver work OK with Jaguar,and can I print with it in black and white?
I imagine HP support,whom I just emailed,will tell me to revert to the old driver.
