Here's a comparison of those NVidia cards in a dual 1GHz G4 Tower. The GF4Ti is the fastest of the 3:

Judging by the benchmarks, the GF3 has a significant speed advantage over the GF4MX for games. But the GF4MX has a slight speed advantage for productivity apps over the GF3. And if you can afford it, the GF4Ti is faster than both!

Here's a comparison of Radeon and NVidia cards except for the GF4Ti which wasn't out at the time:

While the GF3 is the fastest gaming card in this article, the Radeon 8500 has TruForm which is supported in many newer games.

If you're not in too much of a hurry, you might want to wait around a bit for the upcoming Radeon 9700. This is the card Id recently used to demo DOOM3 and is suppose to be fastest and most advanced graphics card to date (even faster than GF4Ti). Of course, you have to consider that your processor speed might become the limiting factor at that point. IE - you probably won't get significantly faster frame rates over a GF3/GF4Ti although you will be able to play with the eye candy cranked up. regards.......joe

PS I have an OEM GeForce3 in my Cube. The GF4Ti won't fit the Cube. But if the Radeon 9700 fits, you can bet I'll hack it in my Cube

Thanks, this is my first experiance with a Nvidia graphics card. Stuck with ATI since the dawn of time. Any idea when the 9700 is shipping for Macs? Also, I know the 9000 and 9700 are ATI's new cards, but what's on the horizon for Nvidia? The GF4Ti has been out for quite some time now...

Is it just me, or does ATI always over exagerate the speed of there almost released video cards?
