does anyone know if the "Pocket Word" documents generated by Windows CE 2.11 "professional" will be read by Office for Mac os X?

Yes, but do not expect formatting to be completely (if any) retained.

Even current Pocket Word (for Windows CE 3.0) do no transfer well to/from the desktop Word through MS's Activesync i.e. an all-MS path. This has been a longstanding complaint in the Pocket PC word.

Check out TextMaker. Apparently, it does a better job than pocket word with formatting and stuff. I haven't used it yet. I'm still thinking about it. I'll post back if I do try it out.
