I have an Epson Perfection 1250 on my iMac with Jaguar. It worked fine with the beta drivers. I installed the 1.0 driver and Photoshop module today and now it won't work at all. I removed the drivers (removing everything related through a search on the drive) and then reinstalled. Same problem. The error message I get is:

"Cannot find a file needed to open TWAIN."

This is followed by a second alert, which is different in Photoshop, but the gist of it is:

"Cannot access selected scanner..."

The first error message is common between both utilities, so there seems to be something wrong with the TWAIN setup on my Jaguar. Anybody able to help?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

Since you've already installed the newest version of the drivers, I'm not really sure what could have gone wrong. I personally don't have a 1250, but have been considering purchasing one refurbished from Epson for $59.

I'm not sure if you've already done this, but check out VersionTracker's Epson Perfection 1250-specific forum:

Seems like you're not the only one having problems. The people in the forum may have a specific answer to your problems. Good luck!

Thanks. I just read those. Discouraging. The scanner is wonderful, by the way, so after this is sorted out, $59 is a good price. I paid $99 new. It's worked very well with the beta driver. I just wish I hadn't deleted the beta since now I can't scan at all and it's a useless piece of junk.

Have you tried the Twain Beta Driver? It works for me, on my Epson 1640, and I've had several customers tell me it works for them also. I can acquire from within Photoshop and Office X with this driver.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Does the Epson 1250 work with apps other than Photoshop 7 in OS X (Image Capture, etc.)? I don't want to have to use Photoshop for every scan. Thanks!
