According to this rumour, and yes this is just a rumour, Apple will announce a 19" display to replace the 22" on the 5:th of November. The resolution is supposed to be 1600x1024...
Makes some sense to me (as far as rumours goes) since the 23" and 22" both target the same buyers... Also I remember a post in the Imac forum stating that Apple had ordered a large amount of 19" displays.
Anybody else heard anything?
Oh yes...
Apparently there might also be a new revision of the PB G4 on the 5:th... http://www.macplus.org/magplus/artic...d_article=2659

Well that does make sense, in that if someone wants a 22" screen, they basically want as much space as possible, and if they can afford the 22" they can afford the 23"...good move I'd say

Guess so...
Widescreen 17" would be veeery nice.
Of course for some apps the standard ratio is better but as far as I'm concerned widescreen would fit my Photoshop and FCP needs better..

widescreen is certainly better once the screen is big enough. i find the 15.2 widescreen on the PB great except that just a few more vertical pixels would be nice especially for web browsing or reviewing documents. i think 1024 or above for the vertical and then your talking...

So, the question is... Will it be a HD or just a regular Cinema Display? thePurpleGiant said if you buy a 22" you have enough $$$ to buy a 23" that's crazy! Do you realize there is a $1000 difference? If the 22" plain display is at $2494 and the 19" HD comes out, the price will probably remain the same. Let's hope it's not HD (for the majority of us) and that they'll price that one around $1600.

Then how do you explain the $1000 difference between the 22 and 23HD? According to your theory they should be priced the same because they are a few pixels off. Hmmmm.

the 23" is so much bigger than the 22". just looking at them side by side in the apple store will tell you that. i dont have the exact dimensions, but just the extra 1" diagonally adds so much more area percentage wise.
but yes. anyone who has the cash for a 22" could probably spring for the 23".
