I got my brother a 10GB iPod as a gift. My 5GB iPod has been working great since I got it (first batch last year).
He's using it with his iMac, running Jaguar. iTunes 3. iPod firmware 1.2.
Usually it works fine, but twice so far he has had a strange occurance that is leading me to think it might need to be repaired.
Each time when he has gone to turn on the iPod, he gets the disk scan screen. It completes and shows the checkmark icon, which indicates no errors. At this point, his iPod has no songs (when it used to be almost full).
To get it to re-sync with iTunes, he has to put it in forced firewire disk mode and then restore from the firmware app. Then he can re-sync with iTunes.
Anyone else seen anything like this?
