To be honest, I'd love to find a sub-5GB iPod (don't have/need much music at any given time) with an FM tuner and a thinner profile for $199. I think the $299 5 GB is overkill for many people, although being able to find a 5 GB for under $200 wouldn't be bad. It would make sense if the new ones had FM - don't see it being that much of a problem. I don't think we'll see any new ones until next year, but hopefully I'm wrong.
I suppose they MIGHT add a tuner once DAB has become reasonably common. At least the signal would be digital all the way, which would fit in more neatly with Apple's marketing strategy. 2006, maybe?
If Apple put an FM tuner in the iPod, I wouldn't use it. I can't stand the radio.
Anyway, if Apple ever lets people know how the headphone/remote jack works, perhaps someone else would make an FM tuner attachment of some sort.
