Another year goes by, and here we are stuck with the same old webcams with their cheap plastic chassis that can barely do 640x480 at 30 fps and cost just as much as they did when they debuted over two years ago. Contrast this with digital cameras that continue to progress every six months or so (over 10 megapixel full-frame sensors, Foveon, etc.).

First we had hardware and no drivers. Now we have drivers and woefully outdated hardware. I truly wish Apple would jump in and conquer this lame market.

what software are you using? is it free?

i have an orange iBot but not X compatible software...

It's not free, but check out www.evological.com. I also recently saw some webcam software on Versiontracker, didn't study the details though.

Hopefully iVisit will be compatible with Mac OS X soon...
