Just what the subject says. Just bought a shiny new iMac, and I want to buy a scanner to replace my old SCSI Umax unit. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want fairly good quality and solid MacOS X (10.2) support - I plan to never see Classic Mode again if I can help it.

I've narrowed it down to three. Why these three? Because they're all good names and they're all $99 bux. I'm sure they're all good enough quality for what I need; what I don't know is how good their MacOS X drivers are.

Epson Perfection 1250 Photo:

HP ScanJet 3500c:

Canon CanoScan LiDE 30:

Anyone have experience using any of these under Jaguar? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Couldn't be happier with the LIDE 30. Fully supported now, great specs, small size and runs off the USB power. You can get it for $80. Good luck.

Is second a vote for the Canon LIDE 30. It works natively in OSX Jaguar with Graphic Converter and I bought it for $75 from Staples.com using their $30 off $100 coupon (had to spend $.01 more to get to $100... I bought $.59 worth of chalk).

You won't regret it. Remember to download the toolbox and drivers from Canon (or versiontracker), install the Toolbox first, then the drivers (or manually drag the plugin after).

Do the buttons (Scan/Copy/Email) on the Canon LIDE scanners work under OS X Jaguar?

Canon LiDE 20 now @ $40 = OK to save a couple of few $'s over LiDE 30 if basically only going to be sending some pixs as e-mail attachments ? ? ? ?
