I have recently upgraded to OS X.2.1. Since doing so, my Sony DSC-S75 digicam and my SmartDisk memory stick reader no longer are recognized by iPhoto or Image Caputre, nor do they mount on the desktop. They do show up in the System Profiler, though. All of these things worked flawlessly in X.1. I need to download my baby pictures from the camera! Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Try running software update and see what that does. If you're still stuck try techtracker.com for news.

I already checked the updater, and there are no relevant updates. A friend suggested that after upgrading that I repair the disk permissions. Think this might help? I will definitely check out techtracker.com and see what's up.

Thanks!

Go figure. I restarted the computer and everything works fine. How could I forget the Cardinal Rule of Mac repair? This even goes back to the days of the bent paper clip. Interestingly, a CD that I had in the tray wasn't mounted on the desktop, either. Any ideas on why this might happen? Is there any way to rebuild the desktop in OS X?

Thanks for listening.

It may not do much to help, but the stoners out there like doing it to watch the text flash by.

In your terminal type:

sudo update_prebinding -root /

Also try zapping pram. go for 4 chimes.

Maybe you are holding you mouth wrong or crossing the wrong leg over the other.

Yelling at the monitor doesn't work. Macs do not respond to threats and profanity.

Let us know if you find something that works.

good luck.
