Simple enough, can't find an answer. Any T68i users?

Thanks in advance.

Nope, it is a phone not a PDA.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Thank you, big letdown. If it had it it could replace a PDA for basic functions. Oh well, looks like I'll get a Treo.

Although I agree this is a phone, this extra field would have allowed me to dump my PDA. I'm sure many others only use their PDAs for contacts and calendars as well.

This is why I never understand people saying that a Treo is oversized waste of money, get a T68i. I looked into it, I asked about custom fields, 'no way' was the response. I looked elsewhere, I didn't realise that not even one mailing address was an option. I have a Treo and love it, go for it!

$250 for a Treo 180 now, not too bad. The Treo 270/300 might have hard competition when Palm releases the Tungsten W "early 2003".
Better screen and much much better battery life for what looks like $150 cheaper, Palm OS 4.1.x vs 3.5.x also.

Those, trio's are damn big clunky just to add an address book.

Better idea, get a T68i and a $2 notepad for your mailing address'.

Wow, lot of uneducated T68i users out there....So ok yes it does have an e-mail address field but it's not activated by default. To activate it, press the center joystick button, Choose "Phone Book", then scroll down to "9. Options" and choose that, then choose "1. Contact Info".

You will see that Name, Home, Work, and Mobile are activated by default for fields, but Fax, Other, E-mail, Title, and Company can be turned on as well.
Hope this helps

Now this is getting interesting. Are you using yours with iSync at the moment? If so does it map these fields across as well?

I was refering to physical street address, not email. Yes the T68i stays a phone, but adding an address field wouldn't be that hard when thought of from the start of the developpement.
Yet it is a great phone, just not the one for me.

I think he / she was looking for mailing address fields. I would agree that this would be a nice feature.

I thought the Treo would be the device for me. Then I saw it at CompUSA and quickly changed my mind. IMO it's too chunky and the flip top is cheesy + flimsy. Also, the translucent screen cover is really lame. I also thought the keyboard was a joke.

Then I saw the Siemens SX56 Pocket PC...It's a very sexy device with more power than the Treo. And, since I subscribe to AT&T, I can get it for $250 less than an unlocked Treo.

Palm vs. Pocket PC:

I have been a long time Palm user but have always been fascinated by the Pocket PC. It seems to have more functionality and appears to be a smarter OS.

Any thoughts / opinions on Pocket PC devices? The SX56? World peace?

Get the phone. Dump the PDA... and carry around the iPod for your addresses and calendars.

Things that iSync = cool.
The iPod is still another device, and it does not go everywhere with me like the phone. However having numbers and email in the phone makes it 95% useful.

I suppose the solution is that if you really need someones address when your out with just the phone then ring them!
