I just got a Hercules 3d Prophet II Geforce 2mx and flashed it in my friends pc. It works in my mac excecpt that often times there is a slight "flicker" in brightness that corresponds with keyboard input or mouse clicks. I'm not sure what causes this. I am using a Sawtooth g4 350 with 4.2.8f firmware and 1045f rom in the Geforce card. It doesn't seem to do it in OS 9.2, just 10.2. Anyone have any ideas and specifically any fixes?I got an error message about a miscompare after completeing the flash. could that have something to do with it? could it be a heat problem or something else perhaps? I LOVE quartz extreme but this flicker could drive me mad and make me switch back to my Rage 128 Pro. Thanks for any tips.

Well for now atleast I put my Rage 128 Pro back into my G4. The flicker was driving me nuts. If I highlighted some text and held down the mouse button while doing so, the flicker would be constant and noticeable. As good as quartz extreme was, I'd rather have a display that doesn't drive me nuts However, if anyone has any suggestions I'm willing to try the Prophet 2 mx again. Just in case, does anyone have a backup of the windows geforce 2 mx rom in case i decide to ebay my card?
Regards,
Dave

I just thought of something. I'm using an USB extension cable for my Apple pro keyboard as my tower is on the floor and the insanely short cord won't reach. Is it possible that this is causing the interference? I'll try connecting the keyboard straight to the tower tonight and pop the geforce back in to see if the problem still exists.

Dave

Have you ever fixed this flickering? I'm having the same issue with a flashed GeForce 3. It only happens on heavily accelerated operations, such as the dock or playing movies etc. It's really buggin' me out. Any ideas, anyone?
