help w/ charging iPod

i've been charging my iPod for like since last night at 7 PM, still am its now 5Pm today where i live, i'm sure its fully charged by now but the charge icon is still animating, is there something wrong w/ my ipod?

Are you charging it with the Firewire port or the AC charger? Mine will often animate when charing via Firewire, but will show fully charged when turned off and plugged in via AC adapter.
