Be advised, as our lawyer brethren like to say, that with OS X 10.2.1, imagewriters, all sorts of imagewriters, including the-loudest-printer-ever-made [the LQ] now work. This is for all of you that used to use them to print multipart invoices and forms and are tired of people scolding you and telling you to get with the program, buy a laser printer or some such nonsense.

Tyler Blessing sent me this. Go to:

http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/imagewriter/

and install both packages GhostScript [ESP Ghostscript 7.05.5 (ESP GS)] and the Imagewriter foomatic package. In that order. The printers immediately show up in Print Center and, hey presto!, imagewriter printing is back.

The only caveat, of course, is that the printers need to have an Appletalk board and you have to hang them on an AsantePrint or some other protocol converter. About Time
