I'm trying to decide between these two 20" LCD monitors. The 2010 has ADC and DVI and is about $200 more. Is the ADC worth that alone or are there other reasons I should go with the 2010 over the VX2000?

Many people seem to have complaints about Formac's customer service. I've never owned a Viewsonic LCD but I've had good experience with their products in general.

Thanks for feedback about ViewSonic.

Meanwhile, anyone have any thoughts about the ADC thing? Does the ADC connector allow the monitor to actually be powered by the computer? If so - is that it's only advantage or are there others?

if you see them both and decide the quality is the same, you have to admit the formac looks great... i really hate the industrial look of regular lcds

ADC is basically the same thing as DVI-D plus power and a two-port USB hub. I just bought a 17" Apple LCD monitor, and it has but one cable connecting it to the computer. There are two USB ports on the back of the monitor, which are handy for connecting my digital camera and other such peripherals.

I posted this in another thread before I found this one so I'll also post it here. Hope that is proper adequate.

The Formac 2010 uses Fujitsu’s (MVA) TFT screen. It also looks like Viewsonic's VX2000 also uses the same screen. Also Planar's PL210M has the same specs and might use the same screen as well.

If they use the same screens wouldn't the monitors have the same picture quality? Or is there more to an LCD monitor than just the screen? And or has anyone compared the Formac with the Viewsonic or Planar?
