Bad iBook battery kills transfer to iPod- help!!

	My iBook (dual USB 700Mhz) went back to Apple last week for repair (screen trouble and a battery that would just die at 40%). It came back yesterday and while I was updaating my ipod the battery died again...it was at about 45% this time (obviously wasn't fixed by apple)....the problem is that the ipod will not work now. There is a folder icon with a "!" inside a triangle. What does this mean? Is there anything I can do? Thanks very much!
