Just picked up a Griffin Powermate (silver) and a Logitech mx700 mouse.

Im stunned. The Powermate is basically just a paperweight but it has made itself mandatory within 2 hours - looks great the blue light reflecting through the clear parts of the monitor and keyboard.

The MX700 mouse is just superb. The light doesnt shine out in all directions and its super accurate. obviously after 2 hours I cant comment on battery life but I dont really care now its great.

I would have gotten one if i didn't get the Mouse Man Pro, I love the wireless and the range is huge, about 10 ft, batt life depends on how much you use it, and I got rechargeable i cn go about a week w/o recharging or a month.

Why is the Powermate "mandatory" what do you use it for besides volume?

maining lighting up my glass desk, and the blue light shoots up through the clear parts of the formac monitor.

good enough excuse?

well hey its not perfect, when i put the powerbook to sleep i can either have it stay on or pulse (which gets stuck at 100%) so i pull it out.
