Hi,

I want to buy 512 Mo SODimm for my pismo.

I have done my research and the best that i found seems to be Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/uk/), while macwarehouse.co.uk, cwonline.co.uk, dabs.co.uk and other big resselers where more expensive.

Is there any british equivalent to OWC, Dealram, ramseeker or Data memory system (datamem.com) ? In the US 512 Mo is as low as 50$ while in UK (on Crucial website) it's about 140$ (£91 without taxes!) and up to 300$ in other shops!!

I expect it to be more expensive over here but not so much!

Thanks

Lordko

I don't know any other resellers in UK, but can highly recommend Crucial even if their price is higher than USA (it always will be). The Crucial service was fantastic and I haven't had any problems with my 256 for my old iMac 333.

Most Mac magazines (Macworld UK, MacUser) have plenty of RAM adds in them.

Thanks for that tip, but even in UK magazines there is no Ad for good online shops (well they r good but expensive!)

So anyone know the equivalent of Dealram/Datamem/ramseeker/owc in UK?

Cheers

I'd recommend Crucial.

You can order directly from OWC (in the US) - which works - but you will get a bill from the tax man about three weeks later. (import duty)

so it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

or - you can ask a kind friend who is travelling to the US to get you some (and smuggle it back)

I really doubt you'll find a better place than Crucial.

I found Mr Memory very good when i purchased 512 Ram from them earlier this year. At the time they were about the cheapest and the guy on the phone knew his mac stuff as well which was reassuring. They advertise in Macworld.
