Sceptre SFD64. System profiler recognizes USB mass storage but unable to get it to appear on the desktop.

I am only using OS 9.1. The flash drive was used previously on a Intel PC at work. I just wanted to erase contents and transfer quicktime movies to the drive to bring back to work to transfer back to the PC. According to manufacturer's web site drivers not needed for OS 9. Any suggestions on how to get this work under OS 9 would be greatly appreciated.
