Hi,

I'm looking to start using my G4 for audio recording, and I was wondering what my options are for sound-in.

All I really want is to be able to plug a guitar cable straight in to my computer. If the input device also accepted RCA plugs, that would be great. Price is a concern, but I don't have to get the absolute cheapest thing if there's something much better for a little more.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh yeah, and does anyone know if my old mic from a beige G3 will work on a new G4 tower? I haven't gotten it to work yet.

as stated in your other thread, plaintalk mics (the one with your g3, provided your g3 was a beige model) have an extra long 1/8" plug, and therefore are unlikely to work with your standard audio in ports on your new mac. if you want something with rca inputs, possibly optical, etc. i suggest you look at the offerings at edirol.com. i have a ua-30 usb audio device from them and it works without a hitch under jaguar.
