I just got the Cordless Elite Duo - a little pricey, but excellent. I use it with my TiBook G4. Anyone else try this?

I've got one and mostly like it, with a few beefs:
I had a microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro for 2 days before a drink killed it. I also have an MS IntelliMouse Optical. With the MS mouse and keyboard drivers, you could do application-specific key/button assignments. I really like this and hope that Logitech includes similar functionality in upcoming driver updates.
there's no autoscroll feature a la MS mice or USB Overdrive.
You can't assign anything to click-and-roll on the scroll wheel.
And I was really liking the five buttons on the MS mouse. I could use the side ones for forward/back in a browser and to move tracks in iTunes.
It kinda bugs me how neither logitech nor MS will let you buy a wireless keyboard without a mouse. I'd rather buy just the cordless keyboard and then wait for an affordable 5-button cordless mouse to come out.. oh well.
At any rate, I've only had this for a few days, but I think I might return it and try and find the Logitech Cordless Comfort Duo: same features and price, except it's a split key ergo design, which I like. It's not as easily available though..
just some thoughts, sorry for the length

How well does the software work with the function keys? Any sign of a power button or sleep button on the keyboard? Looks like a nice keyboard to look into but i wanta make sure everything functions like it should with the software.
Thanks!!

I'm using the Elite Duo on my PC at work.
The keyboard doesn't have a power button, but it does have a sleep button on the left side.
Logitech will probably replace the Elite Duo with a new wireless keyboard/mouse incorporating technology and asthetics from its new MX700 optical wireless mouse (which I'm using on my Mac).
I've had the Elite Duo on my PC for quite a while so I suspect its due for a change.

I just got the Cordless Elite Duo, and I like the feel of the keys and the action of the mouse, but when I got to configure it, the Logitech Control panel tells me there are no devices attached! The scroll on the left side of the keyboard and the scroll on the mouse work fine, but I would like to use the Function keys. Also, the action on the Windows Option key and the Apple Command key are backward, and I would like to reverse these? I've reinstalled the software, replaced the batteries, plugged the receiver in different USB ports, all to no avail? Is this normal? Do these things really have such limited usefulness on the Mac? Any advice would be appreciated.

With the configuration software, can you reverse the windows key and the alt key so it's more mac like?
does anyone make good mac specific keyboards anymore?

After I downloaded the updated software, the Windoze/Mac keys worked like they should.
This is a great keyboard/mouse combo!

I got the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop. See thread here.
Why?
1) The MS's mouse is for lefties or righties. It's small, but I prefer it that way. The Logitech mouse was more beefy but a bit too beefy for my hands, and it was right handed only.
2) The MS's keyboard was a bit less mushy than the Logitech.
3) I preferred the look of the MS keyboard.
4) The MS was a bit cheaper.
I didn't know this at the time, but the MS drivers are excellent. All my app keys are appropriated setup and the ALT and Windows keys are swapped as appropriate. The coolest feature is being able to control iTunes directly from the keyboard, even if iTunes doesn't have a window open. (I didn't manually set this up. The drivers default to this way.) The drivers respect my Prefs, and ironically, when I hit the web page button, Chimera launches.
I have set the scroll wheel to scroll by 3 lines normally when I scroll, and then by 1 page when I press down and scroll.
There's even an eject button on the keyboard.
Not that I game much, but I can even game on this keyboard with no significant lag. However, I'd likely use a USB mouse for gaming just to be safe if I were a "real" gamer.

Hiya's!
I just got a Logitech MX DUO and the keyboard is DOA. Logitech is telling me 'sorry, we only support OSX.1.1-.2.6'
smilie(' ') I say.
The mouse works great and did so right out of the box but the keyboard will not 'synch' to the base unit.
I find it hard to believe that:
1) Apple made such a significant change in X.2.6 to X.2.8 that ONLY the logitech keyboard will not work but the mouse (MX700) continues to work.
2) That the keyboard synch to the base unit should be somehow dependent on the computer platform/OS.
SO: is anyone out there using any Logitech devices under OSX.2.8 or greater? Anyone suddenly having problems after having upgraded their OS?
Any advice other than press the buttons and check the batteries? (Done both multiple times)
Michael

KarlG, Robe:
Same story here, I got the logitech and the cd it came with had old software. I quick trip and a small updated driver later the keys all work normally and the pref pane finds my devices.
My logitech KB has a sleep button that just opens the sleep/restart/shutdown/cancel box, I like it this way. Also default (I think) eject is f12 and it supports both of my optical drives (option-f12 for the 2nd).
Really a great KB and mouse for under $30. Its not the newest one with the wheel on the KB, but the mouse is optical. Application specific hotkeys would be nice btw. Anyone in here use the ATI remote wonder remote control . . . now that thing is perfect (and also $30).
