Has anyone managed to use their scanner with OmniPage X under OS X? I have a CanoScan N650U, and outside of Vuescan, it is useless under X. I'd like to pick-up a scanner that works with OmniPage. Thanks for any input.

All I have been able to do is to separately scan with a Lexmark X83, save the image as a TIFF file and then open it with Omnipage X. It works but it is a pain.

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to avoid the .tiff thing however (as is, I'm sure, everyone who's forced to use it). I'd like to know if the Canon LIDE scanners work with OmniPage. I'd love to replace my current CanonScan with a similar model. The lack of a power adapter and the small footprint of the scanner are real selling points.

Up until now I could not get my Canon LIDE 30 to work with OmniPage X. Isn't Omnipage X supposed to support Photoshop Plug-Ins? The scanner works great with Photoshop Elements 2 using the Canon-provided Photoshop-Plugin.

To make it worse I can not even open a saved image from Omnipage X. I always get the error message "Unable to read the file "Untitled"".

Any ideas?

Are these apps scriptable? If so you could write a script to automate the task.
Just a thought.
