iSync and cheaper cell phones?

Anyone have any thoughts on what the odds might be that iSync will eventually sync with cheaper cell phones? My current phone (I always just get whatever is free) has a calendar and to-dos and whatnot, and I can get a Sprint PCS usb cable for it.... The question is whether or not Apple will support it with iSync.

Is there any hope? Or is Apple going to stay with the best and most expensive?
