Hey everyone...

Right now i'm having an odd problem with my mouse.

The cursor seems to bob up and down randomly from time to time...
Not a very far jump, but very noticeable... pretty annoying when trying to click on links and stuff.

the second problem is (and I don't know if it could be related) is clicking. It seems that when I try to click a button, the click doesn't register fully...

The button changes its highlight, gets focus, but no action is taken. Its like i have to click VERY accurately in the text of the button to get it to register. This, combined with the jumpy cursor leads to a very unproductive KaosDG

Even if i hold the button down on the mouse, I can see the 'click' happen, then turn off... very odd indeed.

Has anyone else noticed/had these problems?

I've tried my Pro Mouse, an IntelliMoose 3.0, IBM Optical Navigator... all the same problems.
About the only thing I can think of that *may* cause this, was I had the Intellimouse Drivers from MS installed.

My system is a QuickSilver G4/733
OSX 10.2.2...

Thanks for any help / suggestions

Are all the mice you've tried optical? Perhaps the surface you are using isnt suitable, and is confusing the opitcal sensor. Non shiny surfaces work better.

I've tried other mousepads, no mousepads, etc. No luck... I don't have a non-optical USB mouse handy to try though.

It doesn't happen in OS9, btw.

Right now I am going to try an archive and install re-install option, to see what happens.

Hopefully that will kick it in the butt.

Are you running any HP peripherals?
