If you're looking for a printer to print 4x6 prints from iPhoto, the Epson Stylus Photo 960 may not be your best choice right now.
I just bought one, mostly to print photos from iPhoto (OS X 10.2). The print quality is excellent, but I was very disappointed to find that the roll adapter and automatic cutter attachment don't work with OS X. I found nothing in the documentation or anything on Epson's Web site to suggest that a fix was in the works, so I'm a little aprehensive about how soon, if ever, I'll be able to use one of the printer's best features.

It seems Epson's OS X drivers are very watered down when compared to their OS 9 counterparts.
I have a Stylus Photo 780...since the release of the OS X driver, I have been waiting over a year for them to add borderless printing, ColorLife Paper, and other options.
I'm pretty fed up, and unless these shortcomings are addressed pronto, I will never buy another Epson printer again. My ESP780 is the only reason I launch Classic right now...I'd like to print my borderless photos directly from iPhoto.
Is there a way we can contact Epson and voice our displeasure? This is ridiculous.

I thought Jaguar was supposed to solve the problems relating to peripherals like printers and scanners. I wonder if other printer manufacturers, like HP, have full parity between their OS X and Windows XP drivers. If not, maybe the problem is Apple.

funny, I was scanning through the forum to get opinions on Canon and HP printers because I'm just about to give up on my two Epsons. I am not happy with having "Print/don't print" and "how many copies?" as my only options in OSX. It's the main reason I'm clinging to OS9 and I hate to just toss my printers. Epson miraculously finally came out with drivers that work with my scanner (photo2450), at least through Photoshop Elements, if not standing alone.
I know this is not the smartest questions but I'm still trying to figure out how the X and classic environments interact. If, for example, I'm using Photoshop Elements. Is it possible to print from within the Classic environment with all the OS9 Epson printer features intact? And if so how exactly do I do it?
I didn't realize that other brands didn't have the nozzle clogging issue. I don't use my "good" (meaning not damaged by small children) printer (photo 780) that often and I spend more ink unclogging the nozzles than printing pictures. I also have never felt that print quality even resembled a "real" photo.
OK, so I guess I'm not voting for Epson ink jet printers here. I also just checked the website and current models don't officially support OSX either as per their spec sheet. A big thumbs down to Epson!

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?
