Just a little story to share with y'all:

My 10GB scroll wheel iPod was recently experiencing extremely poor battery life. About 2 hrs of life per full overnight charge. I called Apple and requested that it be sent back. Box sent to my door, and my iPod returned to apple on Monday (11/25) for repairs. AppleCare had told me to expect a 5-7 day turn around time, which I was fully prepared to deal with. Wednesday morning Airborne Express comes to my door with a package. Inside . . . thats right! A brand new 10 GB scroll wheel iPod. They simply replaced the entire unit. I was thoroughly impressed with the speed and the ease of which I had this repaired. lol, makes a good letter for apple to make fun of dell and their crappy turn around times. ill never go back!

Not that this wasn't a great thing for Apple to do, but it was hardly out of benevolence. It was probably simply cheaper to just send you a new unit, and to *resell* yours (reconditioned of course).
