I'm thinking of replacing my aging Applevision 1710 in the near future, and am all set to get an LCD panel. 16 or 17 inch would be perfect, and I'm considering the Sony SDM-X72 or Eizo L465.

I'll be using them mainly for web and print design, need 1280x1024 res, DVI input, and a small size. The Apple Studio Displays are no go, since they cost waaay too much and would need an ADC adaptor. My budget is £600 max.

Any of you guys/gals used the Sony or Eizo, or any similar specced displays? I'd love some real opinions; I couldn't find anything in the way of reviews of these models on the Web.

Thanks in Advance,

Jonny

Hey jonny-

I'm totally in love with my first new major computer purchase in a long while... DealCatcher email alerted me to the 20% off sale at Dell on peripherals, and I bought the UltraSharp 1900FP (rebadged Samsung 191t) for $719 U.S. total. I read many positive reviews on the Samsung 191t and figured I'd take a chance. I'm so-o-o glad I did, a 19" LCD with about a 3/4" bezel around it is just bad-ass when it's sitting on your desk at home. I had it shipped to me at work and all the Tech guys were just drooooling over it. They all have these big ugly beige 15" ViewSonics with like a 3" bezel around the screen, they look like they're ten years old already. Not to mention the fuzzy, streaky quality of the ViewSonic screens themselves. This 1900FP is perfectly sharp (DVI interface), very easy on the eyes, has a great off-axis view, and after having it a few weeks I can't find a single fault with it. Now I just have to get busy scratching off the Dell logo....

I'd really like a pair of high quality 17" displays and am wondering if there is a Dell rebadged 17 like the nice 17 Samsung mentioned elsewhere here that would be a good deal. How'd you know the Dell is that particular Samsung?
