Such a nice phone. Got it with T-mobile service for a very very reasonable price of $50 for the phone.

I got the D-link bluetooth adapter from Apple as well, so I'm in business. iSync and Address book seem to work flawlessly... my contacts and calendars are all on there, and Address book can dial, send sms, and alert me when i get a call or sms message.

Has anyone else had any experience with this phone and have any suggestions about cool stuff I can do with the t68i? It has so many features its sort of overwhelming.

Congrats on your purchase, it's a great phone.

I downloaded pictures of friends and family into the phone. Then I assigned them to pop up when the person was calling. I also set my desktop to a picture of my wife. The phone is a kick.

Truth be told that's about as far as I got.

You can make screensavers for the T68i, just make an animated gif and send to the phone with Bluetooth File Exchange!

Awe, how can you guys even consider T-Mobile? These are the big pink guys here in Europe/Germany and their image is below zero currently...

Congratulations on getting a great phone. I've had mine for almost a month now and absolutely love it. I suggest you check out Mobile Media for a great selection of free ring tones, background pictures, themes and screen savers. Right now my screen saver has a great animation of Ralph Wiggum eating paste.

(p.s. - For some strange reason, I couldn't get the files to download correctly using Internet Explorer or OmniWeb. Only Chimera 0.6 worked for me.)

And finally, I would like to recommend the Ericsson Client software for your file exchanges between the computer and phone. Give it a try. I prefer it over Apple's Bluetooth File Exchange.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Steve
I've only had my phone and Tmobile (in the states) for about a week now, but i'm pretty impressed with the plan that i got.

$40 a month gives me 600 minutes plus nights and weekends free... a really generous amount of minutes.

In terms of reception, in my area, GSM coverage is not as well developed as the TDMA or CDMA networks, and because of the hilly nature of Ithaca, NY, i get a few dead zones here and there, and it doesn't do as well inside buildings, but otherwise it acceptable... your mileage may vary.

Anyone using their phone to connect their laptops to the internet via bluetooth? I really like the phone, but AT&T is charging by the kilobyte. Sprint had unlimited net connection, but more expensive and not so cool phones.

Its relatively easy to connect to the internet with the T68i and a bluetooth adapter. If you have an existing dial up connection, you can simply set up the T68i to act as a modem.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86151

Its not that fast however. I've only been able to get 9600 baud connections (remember those?!) which is bearable maybe for email and chat, but not for surfing in any sense really. Also, your carrier won't charge you any extra for this since you are only using up your standard voice minutes.

However, if you pay for extra online service and your carrier has GPRS set up in your area (i'm still investigating that for tmobile and my area) you can connect at higher speeds more on the order of 56k... GPRS should be able to maintain about 40kbits/sec, which ain't too shabby.

Hey- I just bought this phone from Amazon for $24.99 after a $250 MIR. I got 3000 anytime minutes from T-mobile.

I can't wait to get it!

Not to spoil the party, but I've evaluated T68i about a month ago and was really disappointed (on trial for a week from AT&T Wireless).

First of all, let me start with the positives. I really dig T68i's connectivity options, especially Bluetooth. It's cute looking (although I much prefer the flip style phones) and felty pretty solid. And I think it's got pretty good battery life considering.

That's about it though. As a phone, it's so-so at best, possibly mediocre. The reception is worse than what I have now (Motorola T720), and sound quality even worse (buzzing sound, possibly network related).

What I didn't like most of all was the UI. The user interface is pretty "yesterday" when compared to more modern interaces offered by Symbian, Motorola T720, Samsung, etc.

Although I miss Bluetooth and iSync capabilities, I can sync address book via AT&T's web site and it's not something I need to do frequently.

To each his own, i suppose. I've just about had my phone for a week, and i'm impressed enough to keep it. I generally agree that the reception is not as great as some other phones, but alot of that has to do with the deployment of GSM in whatever area you're in.

For the record most of the bad reception is because of AT&T's shît network.

I'm tempted to get one so I can link my sony clie to the net via Bluetooth, but I've just upgraded to a Samsung T100 on my Vodafone contract, and so have to buy one sim free for £250... If I were to get it on a contract here in the UK, it's free most places now.

I'ts going to cost me another £150 for bluetooth adapters for my Mac and my PDA though.
