I had been planning on buying the new TiPB, but I've sadly come to find out that the new 1GHz TiPB can not burn DVD-RW or DVD-RAM. So now I'm considering the 867 and an external FireWire DVD burner.

Does a MultiFormat DVD recorder exist in real life? I've found them in literature, but where can I actually buy a combination DVD-R, DVD-RW and, most importantly, DVD-RAM (With CD-RW, of course.)?

Does anyone own such an animal? Does it work? And if so, which DVD authoring software do you use, and does it work?

Thanks!
Trying to make the switch.

Panasonic LF-D521. I haven't seen it in any store yet, but PC Mag (PC World?) has already done a review of it.

Ironically, the TiPB's Panasonic UJ-815 is DVD-Multi, but it seems that Apple's custom firmware doesn't support either of the DVD rewritable formats, for some bizarre reason.
