I bought an iPod here (Canada) recently. I'm going to be travelling to Japan for a month soon.

I know Japan uses 100V outlets while most (if not all) of North America uses 110V. I have been told is not necessary to use a voltage adaptor for most things, except for sensitive electronis equiptment. My question is this...

Should I use a special voltage adaptor for recharging my iPod in Japan? Or is it safe to use the one included with the iPod. I hope someone can answer this...

According to this page the AC adaptor on the iPod can handle 100 to 240 volts of power (which is exactly how the laptop adaptors work too). So it looks like you'd only need to get a international plug kit and you can take and charge your iPod anywhere.

I believe that the iPod adapter is one that can be used without an adapter. I know that the powerbook/ibook adapter can. All you need is a thingamajig (wow, thingamajig is in the apple spell dictionary???) to get the plug to fit. To be sure you don't need an adapter, look at the power supply and see if it says AC input 100-240v 50-60hz. If so, you should be fine (I'd check but my adapter's at home and the power's out so I couldn't post from there.)

No adapters or convertors need in Japan.
