quick question, I just bought a 10g ipod, my friend liked it so much he is buying one for his girlfriend. I told him, since he doesnt own a computer.. I could sync my music catolog on to his new ipod. my quesiton is, since my Tibook already reconginizes my ipod, if I stick his new ipod into my Ti, will it erase my itunes catolog, since I have already synced 1 ipod to the music.hope that makes sense..in short I want to sync 2 ipods, with the music catolog from my 1 tibook..is it safe to do...thanks

Hey Bryan- If I recall correctly, you shouldn't have any problem. The first time you hook up his new one, it shouldn't erase your library. It's my understanding that the library on the Ti will be the master list. Songs that are on the iPod but not on the Ti will be erased. I don't think that the iPod is allowed to erase songs from the Ti's library. Apple assumes that if they are in the library, they are legit.
If your friend wanted to pull the music off of his iPod onto his machine, he would have to get a third party utility to do it. Versiontracker.com, ipodlounge.com and ipodhacks.com can get you one of those utilities.
There was another thread that started down this road a while back:

This will work just fine. I sync 3 iPods from my machine -- mine plus ones I bought as gifts for my sister and my girlfriend.
make sure you have it set to not automatically update iPods, unless you're sure you want this. As not all of us have identical music tastes (oh and because I have 35 GB of CD's I've ripped ;-) I individually manage each. It's trivially easy.
