anyone know of one? I gave my dad my old Sony 1.3 MP digicam for his birthday and want to upgrade to a new camera...I've read everything on dpreview.com, epinions.com and cnet.com to no avail.

Ideally what I want is
2 MP or greater(3 MP preferably)
rechargable battery(if possible)
kinda small but doesn'thave to fit in a pocket
3x optical zoom or greater
under $400

I use it mostly for taking pictures at concerts, etc. So most of my shots are in low light with no flash used. Not the strong point of digicams, I know....but basically in doing research for a new camera, I've found faults with every camera I've looked at/wanted to buy. I'm starting to think my old Sony wasn't such a bad camera.

Although it is not small, I would recommend the olympus 2040. It came out about 2 years ago, but the lens gathers tons of light. It is an f/1.8 at the widest angle if you are into cameras. Another one you should look into is the Dimagé X from Minolta. Small, but doesn't gather as much light. I have had limited experince shooting concerts, but my advice is get the one with the widest aperture (the olympus) just to be safe.
