I am wondering what multi-monitor users that use drawing tablets do for configuration. I have been using two monitors for the last few years and have had a problem with tablets.
The way I see it is that there are three options:
1. Adjust the aspect ratio of the tablet so that it can cover both displays across the tablet at 1/2 resolution of horizontal position of vertical position (8:3).
2. Keep the aspect ratio as fixed (4:3) but limit the control to one monitor.
3. Have physical space for 8:3 in some form
The problem I see with 1. is that you have to adjust your horizontal movement by 1/2 (and the resolution is lower). If you have not seen this, if you were to write your signature, it would be twice as wide as you expect. However, the nice thing is that you have full video space available and you can manipulate controls on the second display.
The problem I see with 2. is that often there are at least controls on the secondary display you wish to manipulate and you must put down your pen to use another input method to adjust those. However, the nice thing is that resolution is high and the aspect ratio is correct.
The ideal situation would be this 8:3 space because it would mirror displays. I am thinking that perhaps you could connect two Wacom tablets that would allow you to work in concert with them. Has anyone done this? Additionally, perhaps someone could produce a 8:3 tablet, but I don't think this is going to happen. I suppose that one option is to reduce the usable area of the tablet to keep the proportional screen size, but then have less resolution available.
So, I guess I'm wondering what other people are doing. Any thoughts?
