I've acquired a G4 cube, and I would like to upgrade the hard drive. Do I need to buy an ATA66, or will an ATA100 or 133 function on the Cube's ATA66 bus?

yes, an ATA100 or 133 would work on an ATA66 but you would only be limited to the speed of your bus channel....
ATA drives are backwards- and forwards-compatible. (In other words, any drive is supposed to work on any controller, assuming proper jumpering, although it will be limited to whichever of the two components is slower.)
