I am looking to purchase a Yamaha CRW2100FXZ External Firewire CDRW drive. Does anyone know if this drive is compatible with Mac OSX and also with iPhoto/iTunes /iMovie? Please post info or any experience you may have with this drive. looking to use with a iMac DV 400.

I've had one of these for about 1.5yrs and it's worked wonderfully on my lombard via 2 different CardBust FireWire cards and now on my GHz PowerBook (I still keep it connected while using the TiBook at home 'cause the Yamaha's way faster'n the superdrive)

It doesn't have any buffer underrun protection, but it does have a large buffer. I don't think I've ever burned a coaster in OS X, even on my very overtaxed Lombard. I've never burned a CD w/iPhoto or iMovie, but iTunes works great.

Even though there are way faster drives out there now, this one's great if you can get it on the cheap..
