What are the major differences?

Also, since 802.11 runs on 2.4ghz. I was wondering if there would be any interference from cordless phones?

Thanks guys.

As far as I know the 1st base station only has 40 bit encryption whereas the snow base station has 128 bit and an ethernet port that can be used to connect to an ethernet broadband.

I get no problems with my cordless phone (but I don't know it's frequency ) or my bluetooth adapter.

people have reported that the 2.4GHz interferes with their portable phones in their houses occasionally, yes. get that 900mhz phone out of the closet and youll be all set

differences as far as i know...

the new airport has a WAN port that acts as a router for a wired computer. (err. i know this sentence is moronic. you know what i mean..)

the new airport can handle 50 users simultaneously

the new airport supposedly has better range, but ive seen no hard and fast tests that prove this.

the new airport is AOL compatible.

yeah I got 2 2.4ghz phones at my house. Bluetooth also runs at 2.4ghz.

So what? The first revision is not a router? Because what I would be using it for is a wireless router for my PC and my Powerbook.

The first station functions as a router as well, it only doesn't have that second ethernet port so you need an ethernet hub, but then it works fine. It's 10 instead of 100 Mb/s though
