Better not tell Apple you are using a theme or that tech support call will end in a real hurry.

I had a similar problem. I made a trip to the Atlanta Apple Store and it works fine after they did their vodoo. I tholugh it was happening again, but when I switched FireWire ports it worked fine. So, my suggestions would be (1) switch ports, and (2) get to the Atlanta Apple Store--if you're in SC, that's the closest.

Good luck.

Ok, i restarted my iPod in forced firewire mode and connected to my iMacs second firewire port and it showed up on the desktop (not in iTunes, which isn't to uncommon for me) and when i did a reset to get out of firewire mode and it started up correctly. I think my battery might have eventualy rundown completely and a hard reset then set it straight. I'm going to let it charge over night and try to put my stuff on it tommorow.

I had a problem with a dead iPod (my second one - bad disk on the first one) that wouldn't do anything, not even charge, when plugged into my firewire port. I connected it to the mains using the iPod power adapter and it charged without any problem. I've had no problems with it since. It would appear that a completely dead battery can't be charged from a TiBook
