I have a Nikon LS-2000 film scanner that I'd like to use with my new powerbook. I'm thinking of buying this has anyone used it? If so, is it worth the money?

I forgot where I read it, but someone had a rant about Adaptec never updating the beta OS X driver for this SlimSCSI card which worked ok in 10.1.5 but has major problems in 10.2.x. I read that after recommending the SlimSCSI in this forum. Kinda makes me bite my tongue.

good to know.. Right now I'm debating between trying to get the LS-2000 to work with my powerbook, or selling it and getting a new firewire flatbed/film combo scanner. I'm not a graphics pro, so I don't need anything really high end. Any other suggestions?

I'd sell it and get a USB one (at much affordable price). AFAIK, Firewire scanners are far and few in between, darned expensive and not getting good manufacturer driver support [in my impression anyway]. I think the only SCSI PC Card option right now might be one called Ratoc (spelling?) whose products always seem kinda expensive to me.
