My friend has an iMac G3/400 SE with 384MB Ram

He has the following USB devices:
- Iomega Zip 100MB
- Snap Scan 1212 Scanner
- Kodak CX4230 Easyshare camera c/w dock
- McNally USB Extended keyboard
- Apple "Hockey Puck" mouse

I have made sure the latest software for the Zip drive, the scanner and the camera are installed.

The keyboard is plugged into one USB port on the iMac; the other USB port has a USB hub connected with the other devices plugged into it.

The Zip drive will not work since the Kodak software and dock were installed.

The camera will only be recognized once by the iMac. Restarts have no effect on recognition. If Disk Warrior is run and the machine rebooted, the camera will be recognized again but only once.

I have tried plugging in various devices into the keyboard with no success. My friend wants everything to work and as simply as possible.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get all the devices working?

Is the hub self powered (has A/C adapter) or bus powered?

Thanks for the reply.

The hub has an A/C adapter and it is plugged in.

My friend is running Mac OS v9.2.2 with all the updates.

It is too bad the machine is an iMac or I would just suggest he install a PCI card with additional USB ports; I think that would solve the problem myself.
