DVD-RAM is not a DVD burner, it's more like an MO disc, but big.
As for the rest... on a Mac, you're pretty much looking at a Pioneer DVD-RW drive (DVR-A03, -04, or -05 model). But check out www.xlr8yourmac.com for actual reviews... they have a huge database of reader reviews of almosy every drive out there.
