I'm sure this was asked before but I'd like some new feedback. I was contemplating picking up a mini dv camera to use with my powermac. I'm by no means a pro. I would just use it to tinker with imovie and such. I know the sony line is fairly decent. Obviously for a couple hundred bucks it will be a one chip CCD model. I just wanted to see what your opinions were. Maybe somebody has recommendations on specific brands/models. Like I said, I'm mainly considering it for mainly play so I want to keep the costs to a minimum. Thanks in advance.

I've got a Sony model TRV-17 that's about one year old. When I bought it, the cost was about 1000 dollars. you can currently purchase some very nice Canon cameras that have an impressive list of features for just a little bit of cash.
