Would I, as an iBook owner without any other computers and a DSL line, want to purchase this 802.11g Airport Base Station and Card? I don't think my DSL line has every really maxed out my airport (the fastest I have ever seen speeds are 120 K/sec), and I'm not file sharing wirelessly with other computers or anything...Would there be any benefit?

DSL and cable modems generally don't need more than what 10BaseT ethernet can provide (correct me if I'm wrong). Airport already does more than that now. Basically, any additional speed will just help networking, not internet access.

and networking is the point of releasing an airport capable of hitting the g flavour of wi-fi: improved intranet streaming performance. if you dont need this, then you dont need g.

But if you have the bucks, why not give them to Apple anyway

You don't suppose an 802.11g Airport would be released to maybe coinside with an Airport Equipped iPod? or maybe iTunes mp3 streaming or Quicktime Intranet Streaming through Rendezvous?

I hardly donīt belive that Apple would build 802.11g networkin in to a iPod like device it will draw to much power - Thatīs the reason Bluetooth exist!
