While I have over thirty gigs of music, I have found my 5Gb ipod beyond my needs. Still, with Hitachi announcing a 40Gb 1.8" drive, can we expect to see this in a new iPod sometime soon? I know they are only due in April but didn't apple release the iPod before toshiba started officially shipping their drives (weren't they 1.9" or thereabouts)?
I know this will probably be the perfect reason for someone to start talking about crappy video iPods (I haven't seen anyone answer how long the battery life would last in these as yet non-existant models - has anyone left their backlight on on the iPod and seen how quickly their battery drains?). Still, a 40Gb version means I could take music and my files and leave my pocketdrive at home. What say everyone...
