speaking of portable video players, what about this?

it has video in, records video in mpeg4, holds mp3's, but uses SD media. now, if sharp can come up with this, imagine what apple could do. also, don't forget, hitachi/IBM just announced 40GB Travelstar drives (iPod drives). large drives means more space for bigger files, such as video. stick some mpeg4 hardware encoder in there, transfer/encode video on the fly from your mac to your video iPod via firewire, and there you go. it would be a sweet device: movies and songs in your pocket!
will this be introduced? so, am i speculating here? hell yeah! is there a market for portable video devices? who knows? it's like asking if there's a market for 'crossover vehicles'...personally, i don't think the market is that big, but check out NAIAS-Detroit coverage, every freakin' manufacturer has a crossover concept or a vehicle slated for production. i think this is just like these portable video devices coming out. there may not be a market right now at this moment, but if manufacturers come up with all this stuff, and bombard the consumers with them, hell, a market will be created...
but, as we all suspect, probably nothing good will be shown at the keynote, probably just another lame demonstration of how cool OS X.2 is...oh, i'm sorry, i mean jag-wire
